Ashlee walked into Starbucks, a smile upon her lightly glossed lips. She was happy to finally find a Starbucks near campus rather than the one she had been going to a few miles away. She walked up to the counter, her flip flops making small clacks against her heals as she did so. A cute boy, whose name was Eric according to his name tag, was working the cash register. 'I like this place already' she smiled, pulling her sunglasses off of her nose and setting them atop her head.
"What would you like, pretty lady?" Eric asked her, a grin upon his face. "Well, Eric, today I'd like a carmel frapp," she replied flirtivly, taking her purse off of her shoulder and rumaging through it for her credit card. Eric went to go order up her drink as she continued to search for the hot pink Visa. "Aha! There you are you little bugger," she said, loud enough for Eric to hear. She lightly blushed when she looked up, seeing him standing there trying not to chuckle. "Oh, whoops. Hah, sorry." she said, handing him the card. "That won't be necessary, miss." he replied, handing her the card back. She looked at him slightly confused for a moment, and then she realized that he was giving it to her on the house. "Awe, Eric. How sweet. Thank you, hun." she smiled, sticking her staw into the drink's large pile of whipped cream.
She gave him a wink and stuck her visa back into the purse and walked over to a nearby table that had an ocean view. The walls of the Starbucks were completely glass with rope lights aligned around the ceiling and the marble floor. She smiled as she sucked on her straw and looked out into the ocean, observing some teans surfing and laying out on the beach.

Westview was showing Zach it was a great school. The entire day, he'd gone surfing, skateboarding, looked around campus, etc. It seemed like he was going to fit in pretty well here. Eveyone loved to gossip, it seemed. But then again, what high school didn't?
Walking along the street, he saw the familiar green starbucks sign. A coffee might just be what he needed. He walked in, and the bell above door rang. Kinda old-fashioned. But all the while, it suited the store.
He walked to the counter, and ordered a drink. He hardly went to starbucks, because it was so freakin' expensive, but today was a treat. A treat for moving away from home to attend boarding school.
He paid, and scanned the store. There weren't that many people around, so most of the ocean view spots were empty. He walked in the direction of them. Seeing a girl alone, he debated on whether to go talk to her. Oh, what the hell. What's the worst that could happen? Plus, everyone in this town seems to be the outgoing type. So he went and walked to her table. "Mind if I join you?" He said, hoping he didn't sound too lame.

Ashlee looked up from the beach scene, hearing the sound of a voice beside her. The voice belonged to a boy who appeared to be about her age; he was pretty cute too. Feeling friendly, she smiled brightly. "Sure. I could use some company. I'm Ashlee Bronsten," she said, extending her right hand for him to shake.
She pushed the chair infront of her out with her foot, inviting him to sit down. She smiled again, taking another sip from her drink. "I take it you go to Westview Highschool?" she guessed since he, like she guessed earlier, looked about her age. She swished her straw around in her cup as she waited for him to sit down and reply to her questions.

Zach breathed a sigh of relief when she smiled. He smiled back. "I'm Zach. Zack Wheeler." He took her hand and shook it politely. "Nice to meet you Ashlee."
He sat down in the chair opposite her and set down his drink. Now that he had a clearer view of her face, she was pretty good looking. "Actually, I just started there," he explained. "I'm just getting settled into this whole..town..thing," He stammered the last few parts. It was odd. Back in his hometown, he knew everyone that was anyone. Walking in town today, he felt like a total stranger in a ghost town. "So, I'm guessing you go to Westview too. What grade?"

Ashlee smiled as he introduced himself and sat down, feeling more relaxed now that he did so. "Yeah, I know what you mean." she replied, taking the sunglasses off the top of her head. "I just got here a few weeks ago. I'm a senior, which kinda sucks. You know, the last year of school and you don't really know anyone and everything." she added, then took another sip of her frapp.
The Billboards Top 100 was lightly playing within the store, the song 'Ice Box' by Omarion was currently playing. She heard it and smiled, it being one of her favorite tracks. "Do you do any sports?" she asked, now getting more ingaged into the conversation. From the few sentances he had said already, he seems pretty cool and collected, which she liked.

Zach nodded. "Same here. All of a sudden my parents just transferred me here. But yeah, it kinda makes you feel...weird and different." And especially since everyone was settled into their own cliques, which made fitting in that much harder.
"Although, I've thought about it. And it actually comes with some positives," it was strage but true. "Think about it. We have this blank canvas to totally re-invent outselves. People here don't know about our past mistakes. It's the chance to start over." Of course, they only had a school year, but still.
"Well, I haven't had the chance to try out for any teams yet," he said, "but I mostly surf and skateboard." He looked out at the ocean. Back home, he used to be the one tearing it up on the waves. "I also play basketball and football." He said. "What about you?"

Ashlee raised a brow lightly, impressed by the way Zach thought of their new start here at Westview. "Wow. I didn't really think of that." she said, agreeing with his optimistic thinking. "I could definately use a new start." she said with a slight chuckle, a few memories flashing through her mind of her previous high school years.
She listened to him name off a few of his hobbies and a couple sports he played and she smiled. "I'm on both the dance and volleyball teams. Plus, I'm joining the Prada Mafia. It's like a little group of aspiring designers." she stated proudly with a smile and then took yet another slurp of her coffee, her eyes still on Zach. "What kind of music do you like? Just please, don't say country. I think I might faint if I meet another country music lover." she said playfully, laughing. Pretty much everyone she had met so far that she could recall exsept Leena and Jason had liked country, yuck.

"Yeah, I think everyone does at some point." He chuckled. He was actually a bit surprised with himself. He'd never been the totally optimistic one. But now that he'd thought about it, it was nice to have a fresh start. If it only weren't so damn hard at times.
"Wow," he said, impressed. "I can't really do any of those. Except beach volleyball, but that ball isn't as hard." He chuckled.
"The prada mafia, huh? Interesting name." He joked. He took a sip of his drink. Ashlee kind of reminded him of his little sister. Volleyball, dance, fashion. A little wave of homesickness passed by.
He laughed. "Well, not that I have anything personal against country music. It's just not my type of music. I like mostly rock, and a little hip hop and pop." He liked a lot of different types of music. Well, except country.
