Jeff got in the left turning lane to pull into the MJR as Ashlee said that she was going to pay for the stuff at the movies. Jeff smiled, 'A girl that doesn't mind paying.. I could get used to this.' Jeff didn't throw a hissy fit like most guys would and accepted the fact that he bought the food, probably the more costing of the two. "Okay, that's cool. I love a girl that pays for me. Thanks, beautiful," Jeff said with a wink. Jeff parked the car, got out, walked around to Ashlee's side and opened the door for her to get out, and then locked the door with his automatic door lock.
Jeff walked Ashlee out of the parking lot and into the main lobby area. "Alright, let's go get us some tickets. Are we gonna get some popcorn too? To be honest, I don't really want any. Haha, and no it's not because you said you'd pay, it's because I'm still full from China Wok. I wouldn't mind an ICEE though," Jeff said as he walked into the ticket line.

Ashlee unbuckled her seat belt and slid her tote up her arm and over her shoulder. As Jeff came around to get her out she laughed lightly, impressed that he had gotten the door every time so far for her. When he opened the door she hopped out, the warm Pacific breeze playing with her loose curls. She smiled up at him and then walked into the cinema, the smell of popcorn fresh in the air. "I'm full too. Ew, popcorn sounds super gross right now." she laughed, lightly patting her stomach. She walked with him to the ticket counter and she removed her sunglasses. "
Hey, can I have two tickets for The Number 23, please?" she asked, grabbing her shimmery wallet from her back pocket with a smirk. "A smart girl never puts her wallet in her tote." she said aloud to no one in particular as she fished out two 20 dollar bills; one for now and one for the consession stand. She put one of the bills in her pocket and handed the other to the cashier. "That'll be 14.50." she said as she took Ashlee's money and calculated her change. "5.50 is your change, have a nice show." she said, hanging Ashlee the change and the two tickets. Ashlee smiled, "Thanks." and handed Jeff his ticket. "An ICEE sounds good to me too." she said, leading him over to the consession stands. A boy cashier waved her over as he opened up his register. "Lucky us." she said, heading over to the free register and avoiding a ten minute line. "What can I do for you today?" he asked Ashlee with a wink and leaning on the counter. Ashlee pulled out the other 20 and set it on the counter. "I'll take a cherry freezy and a.." she said to the cashier and looked around to Jeff. "What kind of ICEE do you want?" she asked as the cashier turned around to get Ashlee's drink.

Jeff heard Ashlee ask what kind of ICEE he'd like. Jeff replied with, "I'll have a cherry one too, it's my favorite." The guy behind the counter worked on fixing up their slurpee-ish items and within 30 seconds they were both handed their drinks. "Enjoy your show!" the man behind the counter called out. Then slightly under his breath Jeff whispered maybe just a little too loudly, "Oh, I know I will." And with that he gave Ashlee a smile as they walked side by side to the ticket taker. He took Jeff's ticket and ripped it in half, returning to him the side with the date, what the show was, the theater number, the time of the show, and it's rating on it. His ex-girlfriend had always saved the movie stubs and put them around her mirror. They'd been in almost every theater of their cities MJR. 'Wtf Jeff, don't think about her.. you're on a date with Ashlee. Knock it off,' the voice in his head demanded.
Once the ticket taker gave Ashlee her ticket stub Jeff walked a little bit ahead and saw that the movie before them hadn't gotten let out yet. There was a huge line already, but that line died down pretty fast. Jeff went and took a place in line waiting for Ashlee to join him.

Ashlee blushed, hearing Jeff's comment about 'enjoying the show'. "What do you mean by that?" she asked him jokingly, nudging him in the arm. She followed along next to Jeff, smiling and saying "Thank you" as the ticket person returned her stub. She glanced up at Jeff and smiled, then looked at the line for the movie. "Wow, the line's kinda long. I hope you don't mind waiting." she said, taking place with him in line. 'I should have figured that. It being a Friday night and all.' she thought, silently laughing at herself.
She took a drink of her freezy and a sharp freezing pain went through her head. "Owwww." she laughed, placing her hand on her forehead. She shook her head lightly, as if trying to shake off the icey feeling. She laughed, the pain slowly fading away. "Wow, talk about embarrassing." she said outloud, looking around to make sure no one was staring at her. She looked back at Jeff, still laughing a little.

Jeff saw Ashlee reacting to brainfreeze. "Ahh, brainfreeze.. gotta love it," Jeff said with a chuckle. Jeff then saw the line finally starting to move into the movie theater. Jeff walked right next to Ashlee following the line of people. He could hear the previews starting to play. Jeff had always hated them, they seemed to take forever and they advertised stupid things. Jeff was afraid of losing Ashlee in the big rush of people so he placed his arms around her and guided her up the steps. The lights weren't totally dimmed all the way, but really.. Jeff just wanted a reason to be closer to Ashlee.
Once they made it up a little more than half way in the seating area, Jeff found two seats next to each other. The only problem was, they were along side the wall of the theater and on the side with only 4 seats to a row. 'More privacy, I guess..' Jeff thought as he asked Ashlee, "Do these seats seem okay to you? I mean, we could find better ones, but I was thinking with these we could be away from a whole bunch of annoying people with huge heads that like to sit in front of you." Jeff said with a quick laugh. Jeff took a quick glance around the theater. It was already packed. "On second thought, we might just want to take these ones, no matter how sucky they are. I highly doubt we will find another pair of two seats." And with that, Jeff sat down in the seat by the wall. Just as he sat down, the lights dimmed all the way. Jeff couldn't wait for this movie to get started.

Ashlee agreed and sat down next to Jeff just before the lights had dimmed. She took a careful sip of her ICEE and set it in the cupholder to the left of her. She rested her elbows partially on the arm rests, just incase Jeff wanted to do the same and she wouldn't look like an arm rest hog. She lightly shook her head, letting her curls rearrange themselves along her shoulders and back. She then looked up at the screen, the previews just starting. She sighed. She missed going to the movies with her friends and guessing whether a movie they were previewing was going to be good or corny. She looked over at Jeff, which brought a smile to her face. She let her back snuggle into the warmth of the seat. Her arms were a little chilly, but that's what she got for wearing a tube top to a movie theater, right?
She lightly ran her hands up and down her arms, trying but not succeeding to get them any warmer. She returned her hands back to her arm rests. She preview showing at the movie was for a movie called Preminition with Sandra Bullock. "That looks pretty good." she said quietly. She took another drink of her ICEE and also took another glance at Jeff. She smiled.
